wort splitter?
I need to find something that will spit my wort flow and allow me to fill 2 carboys with wort at the same time after the boil. One guy in my beer club had a glass Y that he said he got online from a chemistry supply store. He just plugged 1/2 inch hose onto the Y and he was good to go. I checked around and I can't find them anywhere. Does anyone out there have any ideas?

You should be able to get a brass barbed y-fitting at your local hardware store..
Here's a link to some "brewing specific" T's. I imagine you could use the same thing with some tubing to accomplish what you're after:

Let me know if I'm way off base here..

Re: wort splitter?
That would get the job done, I just need to find it in 1/2 inch.

Re: wort splitter?
Okay I went looking online and...well let's just say it got personal.
The problem is what do you call those things?
After a bit of looking I discovered what you are looking for is a tubing connector. A Y-shaped tubing connector to be exact.
Here is a source of glass Y-shaped tubing connectors: http://www.sciencelab.com/page/S/PVAR/20372/22-2004-1
They also have Polypropylene connectors http://www.sciencelab.com/page/S/PVAR/60-196120000 which can be boiled or autoclaved.
There are other sources of these connectors which can be found online fairly easily if you happen to know what to search for.
I hope this is what you are looking for. I believe so but....

Thanks Stihler, that's the ticket. I found them to, finally. They are called Glass Connecting Tube ,Y Shape Connector, 1/2 inch. I found them at onlinesciencemall.com for $1.75 each. They work great but I guess you just have to know what your looking for.

Re: wort splitter?
$1.75 is a very good price!
It was frustrating not being able to easily find this item.
I mean, when I was a student I've seen them in the lab. Hell I've even used them but for the life of me I could think of what this Y-shaped splitter was called.
The internet is a great resource. Assuming, of course, you know what you are looking for is actually called. Searching for the "Y-glass thingie" doesn't seem to work.
I'm glad you found what you are looking for and at a good price!
