Wish Me Luck....Please

Postby Art » Mon Dec 08, 2008 11:54 am

I've danced around with this moment for weeks, but tomorrow I try to brew my first All Grain. It will be a wheat ale and I suppose about as simple as anything I could try for my first. It has been very cold here and I will have to brew inside. I am worried about CO from the burner. I did invest in a sensor and with some occassional ventilation maybe I will survive.

Way to go Art,
That's pretty exciting and I really hope it turns out well. Keep us posted as to how things are going.

I keep a couple doors propped open & also have a fan that sucks the air out & keeps things moving. If you run into any questions about all grain let me know!!

My next brew is going to be an American Wheat and it will be my first Wheat beer since going all grain about 6 months ago. So I'd like to know how yours goes. Did you crush your own grains? I'm particularly interested in the wheat....

How fine do you grind the Wheat grain? Am I just trying to crack it in half, similar to regular 2-row?

Thanks,
Ben

Good luck with your first all-grain. I'm planning on doing one myself as soon as I can get get all the equipment together. Be sure you open some doors and get the air flowing in there. Those burners can be dangerous. You don't want your first all-grain to be your last... Good luck
