Who here owns a store or is interested?
Howdy,
I'm trying out this new section of the forum and was looking for some feedback. Do you think this makes sense to have a seperate section for owners our not? Who in this forum is looking into opening a brewery or homebrew supply store? Who has one already? I'm just trying to find ways to make Brewer's Roundtable the best all-around reference for the hobby. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I am definitely interested in opening a homebrew store one day. I currently live in MD but I was raised in MA, so I would be content opening one in either regions.

I am VERY interested in opening a shop. I've already put together a business plan, and am currently working on obtaining the capital to start. A section specifically for owners/potential owners would be a great resource!

If anybody is seriously interested in opening an online or brick & morter shop let me know!! I will do wholesale, dropship, & repack with your store or site info printed on the items. We just did a big order for a brick & morter/web shop in ireland a few weeks ago. A bunch of hops & a bunch of packs of whirfloc.
So let me know!! Prices always depend on amounts purchased & size of packaging. The smaller it is the more work involved in repackaging.

Re: Who here owns a store or is interested?
Hi all, new guy here. I am also in the process of putting together research to assess if a brick and mortar home brew shop is feasible in my area. I have a BS in Business and retail experience as we as brewing beer, wine from kits as well as scratch. I live between two metro areas (Baton Rouge and New Orleans, closer to BR) and we have no full service LHBS here. The popular one in BR burnt down a few years ago and attempts to rejuvenate it were miserable. There is another in a suburban town east of BR that has very limited hours. I really don't know what they sell or their hours as I can never catch them open. I have heard they are a cash only business. I know of no shops in N.O. after Hurricane Katrina. The hardest part thus far is finding suitable, reasonable retail space available for a lease I can afford. I have the capital to stock a shop but haven't determined if I can produce cash flow from sales to justify the rents wanted here. I want to be fairly competitive with the Internet retailers or there is really no reason to take the plunge. Hope I can cull some more info from here to help me move forward.
