walmart beer experiment: the conclusion
perfected making beer from ingrediants baught at walmart
strong molasses,6 pints
sugar,2-3 pounds
the best fastrise yeast you can get there
1 packet
your choice of herbs such as oregano which gives it a little spice,
nice, ginger,cloves gives it a cinnamonish flavoring
and 1 pint of corn syrup
just as a word of warning youl have to tweak it a bit to make it just right and youl need to buy carbonation drops to add to it
i dont drink cold pop or beer i prefer it german style "warm"
this stuff can have qiete a kick,lol
any other suggestions are most welcome

Just a thought, but you don't really need to use fastrise yeast. You can, and probably should, be using a good brewing yeast. Pick up a tube of WLP001 and use that. If you really want to be a stickler for the "I bought it from Walmart" thing, then try buying a six pack of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and reculture the WLP001 from it's dregs. If you prefer a different yeast, you can always culture the dregs of some other beer. Voila! Brewing yeast from WalMart!

Also, how about buying some pearled barley, and roasting it. You could do a semi-stout by steeping your home roasted barley in your wort.
