Unusual Additions.........
Hi, All! Our local surplus/discount, dented, etc., food store had a bunch of quart-sized bottles of Langers 100% juice in pomegranate, cranberry, and pomegranate/blueberry. These contain no added ingredients, only the juice reconstituted from concentrate with water. At a buck each, how could I resist? (The cranberry was AWFUL, too bitter for us to drink!).
Knowing these fruits are loaded with stuff that is supposedly very good for us, those flavonoid anti-oxidants, has anyone attempted use of juice like this in home brew? I'm thinking on the order of 2 cups per 5-gallon batch, or maybe more.
Seems like, if nothing else, since oxygen in brew is a no-no, and these things are anti-oxidant, maybe they might help preserve the brew, if nothing else. I think, though, they might contribute some unique flavor (or wind up being used to water the garden!).
