Re: The Big Homebrew Label Thread
These are great designs!
For those of us who can make vector images, there's a great site you can go to to have labels made professionally:
http://reprolabels.net
I happen to work there (I hope this isn't taken as spam - just trying to be helpful).
It's very unusual to be able to order labels like this in small quantities. Most printers would charge a fortune. You can even get them cut to any shape you can draw, which is just really, really impressive for homebrew

Just checking also, what do you do to keep ink from running on lables, I had thought about making rice glue when I was ready but milk sounds a lot easier.

I printed of a couple of labels yesterday on glossy photo paper and used milk to fix to the bottle and was astounded by how well "glued" they were, i thought the paper would be too heavy and was quite dubious about using milk anyway but am now very much converted.

Re: The Big Homebrew Label Thread
I have some more labels that I thought I'd post.

And then there is my wit bier collection.

My most recent label is for Pyroclastic Porter.

This one is okay but it has special meaning for me since it includes my car. I'm proud of this so please let me explain.
If you do an internet search for images of pyroclastic flows you usually come across the image shown below of a blue truck driving away from a pyroclastic flow during the 1991 Mt. Pinatubo eruption.

Well, through the magic of a graphics editor I replaced that truck with my 2005 Dodge Caravan. This altered image is shown below.

I used that image to make my label for Pyroclastic Porter.
Removing the background from the image of my car took forever but I think it was worth it.

I love the Pyroclastic Porter! Awsome! Geology and Beer just go together all too well...
The Radiation Red is cool too, but as a stable isotope geochemist, I need to point out that heavy water would be HDO or D2O. This is an important diffrence because H3O is the formula for the hydrated proton, or an acid.
But forget about the science, i'm sure it's awsome beer!

D'Oh!
Thanks for the input.
I thought for sure heavy water was H3O.
Of course, I didn't bother to actually check that but....
At any rate, the label has now been corrected.
I really appreciate you pointing that out.
I would hate to have something on one of my labels that is blatantly wrong.
I'm such an eejit! I should have double checked that.
Thanks again.

Here is another thing you can try that makes labeling really easy. http://www.BeerClings.com. These are viynl cling labels that are reusable. They work great for people that don't like labeling that much.
