Storing yeast and Hops

The store i get my ingredients from reccomends to keep the yeast and hops refridgerated.

Is this correct?
Is it ok to keep them at room temp?
If they are refridgerated should i like take them out and let them get room temp before using them to brew?


I am new to brewing and just want to learn all i can about the process.

Hops and Yeast can be stored in the refrigerator if you will be using them soon. If you want to store hops long term, it's better to store them in the freezer, otherwise they'll lose some of their hoppy goodness. Long term storage of yeast is a little more difficult to accomplish, and there are several ways to do it. Here's one:
