RIMS????
As per usual I'm probably getting ahead of myself and my skill level, but I have been doing some reading concerning a RIMS system. If I'm understanding the concept correctly it would be possible to build a RIMS with a little extra work to the existing equipment that I have. This would be done with manual operation of the different valves, but still be an actual RIMS. Of course this would probably lead to wanting to add automation as time goes on, but would allow me to ease into the system a little at a time. Am I right in my thinking?

Re: RIMS????
You should have most of the stuff for it already i think. I think it would be fine as long as you watch the tems & stuff while you brew.
Let me know if you need some parts for it. I can build heat exchangers to any size, length, tube size, & what not.
Keep us updated if you build one!!

Re: RIMS????
I think I do have enough stuff to give it a try before I jump in with both feet. What I had in mind was using one of my immersion chillers in the HLT to transfer heat to the mash tun. If this works out I'll try to work something out to automate the temperature. What I'm actually fascinated with is a HERMS. I think this would be easier than an actual RIMS.
All the systems I have read about all use copper and high temp vinyl for their pipeing, but would CPVC work without problems?
