pear wine from fresh cider
Hi to all, I am looking for a recipe for pear wine using pear cider. I had 6 gallons recently given to me and can only find recipes using fruit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: pear wine from fresh cider
I am not sure of your source of pear cider and if it has been stablized with meta bi-suphate after turning it to cider. If it has been stablized it may not ferment further. If you have a pear cider that has not had any chemicals added making wine is quite easy.
You should be able to take any pear juice and make into wine. set the SG to about 1.092, the acid to .60% and add your yeast. I always like to use yeast nutrient and yeast energizer along with some pectic enzyme to clear the wine.
