Re: Old Chub Clone Recipe
Disclaimer: I am 7 beers in.
UG! Why do people like scottish ales? I find them heavy, sweet, filling, and over-all unpleasant. I should remind myself that I try to commit to appreciating all beer even if I don't like it, but when I tried this one at a recent brew-fest it was almost unpalatable to me.
P.S. I'm really just begging you all to suggest a scottish ale that better represents the style, or that I might "like".

Disclaimer: 5:30 a.m.and still waiting for my coffee to finish brewing
I feel the same way on other styles/brands of beer too Curlyfat. For example, I attended our local homebrewer's intraclub judging meeting on Meads a few weeks ago. Most of the entries were not my cup of tea and I could not finish the samples, but it was really interesting with what people were doing with these brews - spices, fruit, hot peppers
I agree with you on trying to appreciate all types of beer, but I just can't get into smoked beers, saisons, most wheat beers, etc. My palate and cravings are constantly evolving though and that's what makes this such a great hobby.
P.S. Where did you finish on the beer count last night

Lost count....Not my proudest moment. It's hard to keep track out of a keg.

Re: Old Chub Clone Recipe
I happen to find old chub delicious. Also i have recentely failed miserably with a batch of off-tasting (charcoal/metallic) scotch-ale. If you find a clone, let me know, as i would love to give it a shot.
