My oatmeal stout is off-putting
I brewed my first oatmeal stout about a month ago. When it was fermenting I noticed it developed a cream-like head on the top of the carboy. I bottled it and now every bottle has the same cream looking head on the top of it. If I shake the bottle a little it will disapate into the beer. I steeped the oatmeal along with the rest of the grains, as the recipie called for. The recipie also called for 2 ounces of unsweetened chocolate and 1/2 pound of ground coffee. I was really looking forward to drinking this beer but I haven't had any beer look like this before. Is this common for an oatmeal stout? Anyone out there ever had this happen before?

Sounds a bit scary!! I mashed 2 pounds of oatmeal with 35 pounds of grain in a scotch ale i made & it had no head just sitting there!!
How does it smell & taste?
