Lefse Blond - A success

Postby brewersr » Thu Sep 16, 2010 1:18 am

I'm had a few bad batches lately and I've sort of been discouraged about brewing as a result. As a result, I was really glad when my last batch of Lefse Blond turned out really well. I feel like my previous batches have tasted too malty (these are all extract batches by the way). Once I get a job I'll probably get into doing some more all grain but as a student, I just don't have the space or cash for a good set-up.

Anyways, I'm currently enjoying some of the fruits of my most recent labor.

Take care and keep brewing,
Matt

Good to hear from you brotha!

Don't think you're going to get away with saying you had a batch of Lefse turn out really well and then NOT post the recipe... No sir. There's a rule against doing that sort of thing. It's in the book. You can look it up if you like.
So, at your earliest convenience, I invite you to correct that error by posting a proper recipe right here on this page.
I've never tasted Lefse. Is it any good? What would you compare it to?
Here's to a long life and a merry one
A quick death and an easy one
A pretty girl and an honest one
A cold beer and another one

Cheers,

Howdy Dave!

I'll definitely get that recipe posted. I'm not sure if the batch I made it typical of this type but my batch isn't too hoppy, definitely more malty. I prefer hoppier beer generally but I'm really enjoying this batch. It's a great summer beer, really light, somewhat on the sweet side. My wife loves it actually, she's really beginning to enjoy beer more which is cool. Typically she's been a wine person. I think that Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy is what really got her into beer.

Anyways, the recipe is on it's way!
