    Don't drink too much.
    Start with a full stomach.
Drink a pint of water between pints of beer. A necessity out here in the desert.
Drink only homebrew. The vitamin B from the yeast will aid in recovery.

An alcoholic working partner once told me if you take 3 aspirin before you go to bed you'll be fine in the morning. It may work but that guy never looked that great when he came to work in the morning. :)

i prefer the old Lemon trick with cold water bath! i love wines and beers. so getting an hangover is quite usual for me.. you can not have a method by which you can not have hangover if you are planning to drink. so when i drink too much, i drink 2 glasses of water with 2 lemon juices in it, immediately after that i take a cold shower! and trust me it works for me....

The most effective method, in my opinion, is also the most difficult to make yourself do. Work up a sweat. Whether it's by working out, or working hard, whatever, after an hour of miserable hard sweating, I always am hang-over free. Unfortunately, when I'm hung-over this never seems like a good idea  .

Problem with hangover cures is that most of the time when we had 1 or 2 too many we dont remember to take them. I usually take 2 multi-vitamins and 2 B-vitamins with 2 advil and never have hangover. Now I try to take them before I start drinking. Also, drinking water in between beers helps but, I usually don't do that.
Thanks,

This is my method & I haven't had a bad hangover in a very long while.

(1) Don't smoke cigarettes while drinking (this is hard for smokers, more of a rule for social smokers.)

(2) Walk home instead of catching a taxi, or stop the taxi early and walk the rest of the way. Similar to Curlyfat's "Work up a sweat" method.

(3) Then take vitamins and drink a litre of water, I do often add lemmon juice, as recommended by Donnaclif.

(4) Eat a curry, vindalo if possible. This is the MOST important step. Never forget it. If there's no curry to eat just munch down a teaspoon of chilli powder.

(5) Sober up a bit before going to sleep.

How about moderate your intake? Don't get plastered? I've never found getting totally bonked too much fun anyway.

I drink some water between beers, like Wild mentioned, that's a good practice. Isn't hangover mostly the result of dehydration?

I find getting "totally bonked" a lot of fun,
But being cultured with Australian vernacular perhaps I'm attributing a different meaning to that phrase?

I heard somewhere coconut juice is a powerful diuretic or laxative. maybe it expunges all the badness.

I'm guessing "totally bonked" is a universal term. Although it may have some positive and some negative connotation. In general I enjoy getting "totally bonked" in the appropriate setting. This summer at a brew-fest I got totally bonked with many other beer lovers and had a blast! The day after was less fun...

I prefer hovering at buzzed. Just enough to make a fun situation into a great time, but not enough that I end up eating keno tickets again and have a pounding headache the next day...... Ya, last time I did shots didnt turn out so good.
