Introducory post
Hi Group
This is my first post here, I havn't made wine for several years now but it's something I want to get back into, particulaly as I also enjoy gardening and growing my own fruit which can go to waste if I dont put it to good use (bottle it in liquid form).
Theres one particular plant I have, I dont know what it is, it started to grow between my thornless blackberry and raspberries, I dont know if it's possible but it seems to be a mix of these 2, it tastes something like a raspberry and looks like a large blackberry but if you leave it till it's black it's gone past it's best, I need to pick them just as they are turning black, it has masses of fruit and I'm looking forward to my first bottle of wine from it, if I can stop my wife giving the fruit away, she seems to offer everybody who visits us a bowl of these berries to make a tart, mind you they do make a beautiful crumble.
I'm also growing grapes, blueberries, gooseberries, elderberry and strawberries, when my kids see them they think of deliciouse tasting berries, when my wife looks at them she thinks of crumble and tarts and when I look at them I think of sparkling bottles of wine. it's a bit of a race who can get them first.
