Getting back in
Its been a long while since I posted on here. Between the long hot summer and work and everything else, I have stepped away from brewing for some time.I had the intentions to make a pilsner about three months ago. I bought 12lbs. of pils. malt which was put in a large zip-lock bag.BTW it was uncrushed(going to use a mill I bought from a nice guy on this site
)Anyway it never got used.My question is.... is this grain usable? I also have vacume packed hop pellets even older!(usable?)Any thoughts welcome.

Re: Getting back in
welcome back bigdaddy, i think you will be alright with the grain, since it's not crushed, and hops you got vacumed packed. i been in the same boat this last year. i had a fire last year that destroyed everything here, but got the place rebuilt and moved back in last july. even though the patio brewery isn't completely finished, i have started brewing again and have a pale and a dark on tap and a cherry wine ready to enjoy.
i think this hobby is habit forming, and it's hard to stay out for very long.

Re: Getting back in
You'll be good to go. I buy grain about twice a year. As long as it wasn't in a warm/moist environment, you'll be fine.
