Hello all Im new to this forum but have been making wine for 10 years now. My wifes cousin gave me 50 empty bottles from their wedding 7 years ago and they did not rinse them out can anybody give me a solution to this problem. Got most of the chunks out but bottles are not totally clean what can I do?

welcome to the club, i use oxyclean or sun (generic) cleaner in hot water and soak overnight, usually takes out all the junk. then rinse real good and sanitize, and ready to bottle.

I get a lot of people who save bottles for me. If there's the slightest hint of gunk in the bottom I throw them in a box for the recycling center. If you don't have a lot of bottles to choose from, buy a bottle brush from your local grocery store or Walmart.
