So my question is what would the Honey contribute to my gravity reading. BeerSmith doesn't calculate honey in the boil. Also, do you think I'll get any honey flavor in this brew? This was the best smelling wort I've done yet. I can't wait to taste it.

It will give you 1.008 on the gravity & about 0.8% alcohol. In my experience using honey is i have never really tasted it in the beer.
I think you need to use honey malt for a honey taste, I think!! Its early.

The value I have for honey is 1.030-1.035 gravity units per pound of honey per gallon.

Using the formula of OG = (X * F)/V where OG is the original gravity contribution of the honey, X is the amount of honey used (i.e. 1 lb) and F is the extract of the honey (i.e. 30-35).

Plugging these values in: OG = (1.00 * 30)/5 = 6 ===> 1.006

Using the other honey value I have gives a value of 1.007.

Therefore, not using the honey would result in your original gravity dropping by about 1.006 to 1.008 (using Jeepguy's value).

I differ a little from Jeepguy but we're in the same ball park.

My honey values are from table of non-mashed fermentables I have at http://www.mosquitobytes.com/Den/Beer/Hmbrewing/Recipes.html/Table2.

I agree with Jeepguy about the use of honey in the fermenter. Honey really does not contribute much to the finished beer other than just providing additional fermentables.

I am sure its close to that. That is beertools calculator.
Yes 1 pound of honey. So if you add 2 pounds it would be about 1.016 or so.
Beertools is nice & easy & you can adjust the colors & see what sugers & stuff will do to the brew.

?? I have done some beers where it definitely has contributed to the flavour, but they were half-wheat half-barley malt and maybe that changes things. Or maybe I was using more honey than you chaps. The ones that worked out well lost all the honey sweetness but retained an unsweet honey taste. They seemed to have a short shelf life though, which surprised me because honey is a preservative.
