Bloody Beer?

Bloody Beer?
Is it possible to bottle a bloody beer?
Brew a light beer and then add spicy tomato juice at some point in the process?
Or would the acid kill the fermentation/carbonation?
Just a thought. It would be nice to have a bottled hangover remedy like that.

Re: Bloody Beer?
Tomatoes ferment fine. A tomatoe wine was one of my first brews. Just didnt know what it actually was until recently. It was supposed to be a tomatoe soda, but I let it ferment out accidently. So ya, it's possible, but wether it's drinkable is another issue.

Re: Bloody Beer?
Didn't Budweiser do that? I understand the draw. I've made quite a few for my patrons on Sunday morning but always poured light (tomato juice) and allowed them to add more if they wished. I believe it would taste fresher if the juice was added in the glass rather than the bottle but the great thing about this hobby is that anything is possible. Give it a try and be sure to keep us updated as to your progress.

Re: Bloody Beer?
I've always wanted to do this, about how much (percentage) of tomato juice would you mix in?

I'm also a little worried about freshness. I'm going to try this either this week or next.
I appreciate the thoughts, everyone.

Different customers had different tastes. They would mix in anywhere from 2-4oz per pint as they made room. Best thing to do is mix your own to find the best ratio and use that for your percentage.
