Added too much hazelnut extract, what should I do?
ok. so i think i just wasted a batch of a hazlenut brown.
i just transferred to the 2ndary at which point i added a hazelnut extract. the bottle said 2 oz for 5 gallons. so like mr dumas i poured it in. and now looking at the recipe it calls for 1/8 oz. ughh.
now the only smell and taste is hazlenut.
so... i am wondering if it might be possible to introduce some more yeast to eat up the sugar in this hazelnut syrup and maybe it will eat some of the flavor too. is it possible?
maybe the flavor will dissipate some... i hope..
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: oh no!
I don't believe there is really anything you can do other than make additional beer and blend it with your hazel nut ale.
You will likely only use a little of the hazel nut ale to get the taste you were shooting for.
I hope somebody else has a better suggestion but....

Re: oh no!
Nope, there really isn't much else you can do. A little of that extract goes a long way.
I'd seriously thing about following Stihler's advice. You might think about a darker/stronger beer to mix all of that extract with.
Good luck,
Wild
