Greetings Fellow Homebrewers!

My name is Lee Cruppenink, and I am the president of the Cass River Homebrewer's Club out of Mid Michigan. I am writing to you today as the competition Chairman of the Cass River Homebrew Club's 2009 Homebrew at the W.E.B. Competition.

The Cass River Homebrewers are preparing for the second annual Homebrew at the W.E.B. Competition. Our competition is held in conjunction with the World Expo of Beers (W.E.B.), which is Michigan's largest beer festival. The festival has been held annually since 1995 and brings more than 40 breweries to the area; offers beer education classes, and culminates in a BJCP certified professional competition. Last year we decided to add a homebrew competition to the list of events, and it went quite well. The inaugural competition was held 2008 with 223 entries from 78 brewers representing 11 states. The second annual competition will be held in May 2009 with the Best of Show and Organizers' Choice announced at the World Expo of Beer© on May 16. We are thrilled to announce that the beer selected as Best of Show will be brewed by and served on tap at the renowned Sullivan's Black Forest Brew Haus ( http://www.blackforestbrewhaus.net/ )of Frankenmuth, Michigan!

In keeping with the theme of the World Expo of Beer©, Homebrew at the W.E.B is open to homebrewers from anywhere. We are accepting entries in BJCP categories 1 through 28.

Medals will be awarded to the top three entries in each category. Additional prizes will be awarded to all first place entries.
Entries will be accepted between April 6, 2009 and April 24, 2009. Ship entries to: Homebrew at the W.E.B. 4274 State Street, Saginaw, MI 48603. Entry deadline is Friday, April 24, 2008 at 5:00 pm. Drop off locations are currently being planned. Please check our website (http://www.hbd.org/cassriver) for updates.
Additional information can be found at http://www.hbd.org/cassriver.

Please take a look at our current sponsors at http://hbd.org/cassriver/2009sponsors.html.

We are still looking for category sponsors. Individuals interested in sponsoring our event can review the sponsorship opportunities page on our website at http://hbd.org/cassriver/HBW_overview.html. Any sponsorship inquiries should be directed to Dave Scholl at: schollda@voiceinc-mi.org.

If you have any additional questions, please let me know.

Cheers!
